using kehdo

kehdo is a free voice-first journaling and daily companion app for android. by installing it and tapping the mic, you agree to these terms. if any line here doesn't sit right with you, please don't use the app — and write to us about why, we read everything.

your account

kehdo creates an anonymous account for you the first time you open it. you can later link a google account so your words travel with you across devices. you're responsible for keeping that google account safe; if someone else gets into it, they can read your kehdo.

what's yours stays yours

every word you speak into kehdo belongs to you. we hold the copy on your behalf so it can travel with you, but the content is yours. we do not own it, sell it, license it to anyone else, or train models on it. you can delete it any time using the in-app delete account flow.

what kehdo is and isn't

kehdo is a habit-forming companion for self-reflection. it isn't a medical device, a licensed therapist, a legal recorder, a court-admissible diary, or a substitute for professional care of any kind. if you need help, please find someone qualified.

acceptable use

we ask three things:

if you do, we may suspend or delete your account. we'll tell you why if we can.

third parties

kehdo uses openai whisper for transcription and anthropic claude for summarisation. by using kehdo you accept that small slices of your transcripts pass through their systems for processing — neither company trains on the data and both delete it within thirty days (see the privacy policy for the details). their terms apply to that processing in addition to ours.

subscriptions

kehdo is free as of this writing. if we ever introduce a paid tier, we will tell you in-app, the new terms will appear here, and you'll never be charged for anything you didn't actively choose.

the disclaimers

kehdo is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. we do our best to keep your words safe, the transcripts accurate, and the app stable, but software is a living thing and edges are imperfect. transcription errors happen — whisper is excellent but not infallible. summaries are claude's interpretation, not gospel. don't rely on kehdo for anything safety-critical.

liability

to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses that arise from using kehdo. if a court finds us liable for something despite all this, our total liability to you will not exceed one hundred united states dollars (or the equivalent in your local currency).

ending things

you can stop using kehdo and delete your account whenever you like. we may suspend or delete an account if it violates these terms or causes harm to other users or our infrastructure. if we shut kehdo down entirely, we'll give you at least thirty days' notice in-app and a way to export your transcripts.

governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of india. the courts of india have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of kehdo.

changes

we may update these terms. when we do, the date at the top moves and we tell you in-app the next time you open kehdo.
